Registered Manager - Children's Residential Home

About the Role As the Registered Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care, compliance, and safeguarding. You will shape the culture of the home, lead and motivate a dedicated team, and ensure Ofsted excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong, inspiring leadership to the staff team, fostering a positive and supportive culture
- Oversee all aspects of the home's operation, ensuring full compliance with the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and all safeguarding requirements
- Prepare the home for Ofsted inspections and maintain a high-performing, child-focused environment
- Develop, implement, and monitor care plans tailored to individual children's needs
- Lead on recruitment, staff development, and performance management
- Manage budgets, resources, and administrative systems effectively
- Ensure the emotional, behavioural, and developmental needs of children are met through trauma-informed practice
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience managing or running a children's residential home
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Proven experience opening and registering new children's homes with Ofsted
- In-depth knowledge of Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice
- In-depth knowledge of Ofsted inspection frameworks
- Enhanced DBS check
- Full UK driver's licence
- Ability to manage high-pressure situations and support children with emotional and behavioural challenges
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with children, staff, external agencies, and stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills with experience in staff management, supervision, and team development
