Regal Stay Care & Support provides safe, stable, and nurturing homes for children aged 6–16. We're forming a new Governing Body to bring independent, values‑driven oversight that keeps children's welfare, voice, education and health outcomes at the centre of everything we do.

What the Governing Body Does
Holds us to high standards of care, safeguarding, and education, aligned to the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations & Quality Standards.
Reviews outcomes, incidents, audits and Ofsted findings; tracks improvements to completion.
Oversees risk, quality, culture, and continuous improvement
Champions children's rights, voice and participation in decision making.
Time Commitment & Meetings

Chair of the Governing Body
Head of Board – 1 Role
Purpose
Lead the governing body to deliver strong oversight, ethical decision‑making, and a consistent focus on children's outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Set the annual workplan; lead monthly meetings for effective scrutiny and clear actions
- Oversee safeguarding, quality, education/health outcomes, risk, and compliance
- Ensure children's voice and participation shape governance
- Review Ofsted outcomes, complaints, incidents and internal audit actions
- Lead board recruitment, induction and development; promote diversity and inclusion
- Be an ambassador for Regal Stay Care & Support with partners and stakeholders
Ideal Profile
- Experienced board chair or senior non‑executive leader
- Strong understanding of children's social care/safeguarding and quality frameworks
- Confident, evidence‑led, and values‑driven
